I don’t know about you but I have a hard time living a life that simply exists. Trees are for existing, flowers are for existing, grass exists. But us? We are not for merely existing yet we oftentimes allow ourselves positions in life where we literally just exist; and oftentimes we don’t even notice. … the Spirit of God inside of us for the purpose of doing His will seeking, saving, helping, serving, and loving the lost. This past week we barely scratched the surface of Acts 12 and in that found ourselves immediately challenged and inspired to live a life that ends with meaning. As we have grown closer in the last several years that message has become part of our DNA. That we wouldn’t just “do church”, we couldn’t just seek to build a place to check church off the list for people but that we’d continue to walk down the path God has before us all to deeply root and establish a family of followers, determined to know Jesus, become like Jesus and do the things that Jesus did. He has been working on many of us for some time and I am convinced the story He is and has written is The Story that we are to tell because as we look out in the crowd of people we know, as we go about our days we and those we know often need a different story. We need God’s story, alive, in us, flowing out like fresh water to everyone who needs a drink.
I don’t want my life to end insignificant. I want to be known to have turned things upside down for the sake of Jesus and the cross. How about you?
Let’s go tell the world this story
